CALL course Through the Centuries with Jewish Music – Lainee Ginsberg and Virginia Eskin The first four weeks of this class will be taught by Lainee Ginsberg and will cover Biblical and other ancient music, Cantorial music, Ashkenazic Yiddish and Klezmer Music, Sephardic Music in Ladino, and the beginnings of Jewish Choral music in the 17th and 18th centuries. Then, Virginia Eskin will take over for the next four weeks, specializing in piano works of great Jewish composers in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries. Prepare for a whirlwind tour of great music! |
